Irfan and team are exceptional at what they do. I had purchased my property and the inspector found a damaged water main in the basement which needed to be replaced immediately. They came and explained what the issue was and promptly took care of it at a reasonable price. I have used them again for many plumbing issues; replacing thermostats, water heaters, tune ups, repairs, as my property is over 125 years old. On one instance I was trying to find the best solution to redo my bathroom in a cost effective manner and they provided me a solution to do that, even if it meant no work for them. They are able to handle it all, they use high quality materials. It is so refreshing to find a team highly intelligent, reasonable, and most importantly honest and with integrity! I&C was fantastic. I had a gas leak coming from my stove and they were there the very same day that I called. In the span of three weeks between late November and now (12/17/24), I encountered two unrelated home issues. The first was a heating problem that surfaced the week of Thanksgiving: while the second floor of my home was warm, the first floor remained cold. A major Greater Boston company diagnosed the issue as a faulty circulator pump that needed replacing, quoting over $3,000 for the job. Before committing to such a costly repair, I sought a second opinion—and that’s when I discovered I&C Mechanical Inc.

Although I hadn’t heard of them before, my research revealed they were a trusted, hyper-local company with a wide range of services. From my first call, I was impressed by their prompt, professional, and courteous communication. Their approach immediately set them apart: they methodically inspected the system, checking air pipes, return/supply lines, the zone board, and more. Their investigation revealed a completely different—and far simpler—culprit: a misaligned zone valve. Within minutes, they adjusted the valve, and heat began flowing to the first floor. Problem solved—without costly repairs!

What stood out most was their honesty and professionalism. Instead of pushing unnecessary repairs, Irfan and Brock focused on delivering a solution that worked. While they were at my home, I asked them to take a look at a slow-draining bathroom sink. They quickly diagnosed a poorly installed P-trap and fixed it with precision and care.

Fast forward three weeks to December 11, during a record-breaking rainstorm that left Boston drenched with over three inches of rain. My aging sump pump failed, and water began accumulating in the sump pit beyond normal levels. Without hesitation, I called I&C Mechanical Inc. again. Irfan and Brock returned promptly and once again delivered impeccable service. Not only did they replace the sump pump efficiently, but they also improved the surrounding piping to safeguard other plumbing assets.

I highly recommend this company. They are professional, responsive and knowledgeable. I called the company this morning for a replacement AC condensate pump that caused a leak. Owner said they were able to come out on the same day and not only that, but they arrived on time. Their work was thorough and the owner was able to explain to me some issues that I may encounter in the future with my AC unit. And before leaving, they made sure they cleaned up everything.
